Dr Jackson was born and raised in Pittsburgh,
Pennsylvania. She became interested in Chiropractic after suffering a back injury at the age of 25. “It was the best thing that ever happened to me….it changed my life!”
Chiropractic treatment relieved the lower back pain that she suffered after a work-related injury. That experience made her rethink what she wanted to do as a career, and she began to research chiropractic. Dr Jackson loved that
chiropractic allowed the body to heal itself
naturally and restore function more efficiently.
She did her undergraduate degree at night while continuing
to work as a corporate Photographer for Westinghouse.
Dr Jackson received her Doctor of Chiropractic degree
from Sherman College of Chiropractic in Spartanburg, South Carolina, graduating with honours. She moved to New Zealand and bought the Wallace Chiropractic Clinic in 1998. The clinic was renamed “Jackson Chiropractic” in 2015.
Dr Jackson has completed extensive continuing education in Arthrostim and Vibracussor instrument adjusting, Activator technique, Neuro Cranial Integration, Trigger Point Therapy, and Quantum Neurology. She uses an integrative approach that uses a variety of techniques to achieve the best outcome for each individual patient’s needs. This enables patients to heal from injuries and experience their full potential for vitality and vibrant health.
In her spare time Laura enjoys playing ukulele, gardening, and making sour dough bread. After cyclone Gabrielle she realised the importance of communication and decided to pursue her ham radio license. She is an active member of the Gisborne Radio club and AREC (amateur radio emergency communication). Ham radio is another way she can serve the Gisborne community during a crisis.
“I feel privileged to be a Chiropractor and I am passionate about serving the Gisborne community.
Every day I see people with long term health complaints get better without taking drugs or the risk of surgery. I Love helping my patients function better and increase their true life potential.”
